Ms. Parrington
Hello Students and Families! My name is Colleen Parrington, and I have been a special education teacher in the Lowell Public Schools since 2007. In my current position, I have the privilege of providing special education services to students in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade.
Prior to coming to the Washington School in 2018, I worked at the Sullivan Middle School. In that role, I taught in a substantially separate classroom for 5th and 6th grade students who were diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. I also taught 7th and 8th graders in the same capacity there.
In addition, I have been a volunteer youth soccer coach, coaching both of my kids' teams since 2020.
When I'm not at school or on the soccer field, I like to spend time with my family. I have 2 daughters who are my world! We like to watch movies together, take photos, listen to music, have dance parties, and eat at Texas Roadhouse. Summer is our favorite season and we soak up every bit of our vacation every year! We love traveling, especially to Cape Cod, the White Mountains and the beach.
As always, as a special education teacher, my goal is to build a trusting home/school partnership that empowers every student to achieve independence and self-advocacy skills, build social skills, and of course, make academic growth. You, as the parent or guardian, are a big part of our team, and how you feel is important to me.
