Mrs. McCoy

Hello, my name is Susan McCoy. I am excited to begin my 30th year teaching in the Lowell Public School system. I have been fortunate to spend 27 of those years as part of the amazing Washington School community. Throughout my career, I have taught first grade for seven years and second grade for sixteen years. For the past four years I have had the pleasure of serving as the Math Resource Teacher at Washington School. In addition, for the past six years, I have served as the site coordinator for our after-school and summer school programs.

I grew up in Lowell, Massachusetts, and currently live in Haverhill with my husband. I have three children: Danny, 26, who is a Sales Director at Medallion Roofing; Julia, 24, who teaches at the Bartlett School in Lowell; and David, 19, who attends UNH. We all have busy schedules, but we always try to make time for family dinners whenever we can. Those meals are a special opportunity for us to catch up and spend time together. 

I truly love teaching and am always looking for new and creative ways to challenge my students while making learning fun and meaningful. I am so looking forward to working with your children this school year and getting to know each of them. 

I know we are going to have a wonderful year filled with learning, growing, exploring and lots of fun together. I can't wait to get started!
